Falken Tyres presence in the truck tyre replacement market is small compared to many of its rivals but increasing positive feedback from early adopters of the Japanese tyre maker’s products suggests that it could be set to play a larger role.
Though Falken’s presence in the market is recent together with sister brand Ohtsu it has manufactured CV tyres for many years in Japan where the tyres are known for their value for money.
“The tyres have a number of features such as stress dispersion sipes that reduce irregular wear by minimising pressure along the groove” says Falken’s UK & Ireland director Matt Smith. “Bespoke compounds even out wear under full load conditions, helping to extend working life of the tyre.”
CV fleets in the UK and Ireland have been offered a range of tyres since the regional launch that includes highway and urban truck, (including drive and steer axle versions), on and off-highway, winter driving as well as city bus and coach versions. To date, over 30 different tyres covering sizes from 215/75R17.5 to 385/65R22.5 are on offer and this is expected to increase.
