The International Road Transport Union (IRU) is set to showcase its TRANSPark application at the UNECE Forum on Secure Parking.

The UNECE Inland Transport Security Discussion Forum on Secure Parking will be held in partnership with the IRU in Geneva on 15 February 2013, with a key focus on the IRU’s TRANSPark application.

TRANSPark is a free of charge and user-friendly tool for professional drivers, parking area managers and transport operators to locate 4000+ parking areas in over 40 countries, plan routes, add the location of parking areas and rate the security and comfort levels they offer, enabling better control of costs, while helping prevent cargo crime and attacks on drivers.

Bearing in mind that over a five-year period, 68 per cent of attacks happened at night and 42% in parking areas, this important Forum will highlight how more and better secured truck parking areas can help improve road security.
