Paragon Software Systems is exhibiting new routing and scheduling innovations at this year’s Commercial Vehicle Show, 9 to 11 April at Birmingham’s NEC, stand 4K34.

Commercial vehicle fleet operators will have the opportunity to learn about the company’s ground-breaking transport optimisation solutions, including an automatic low-bridge avoidance option for GB users, an interface to Google’s UK live traffic information and a new version for China. Visitors will also have the opportunity to hear how INRIX road speed data can be used to help fine tune transport plans.

Paragon’s low-bridge avoidance NAVTEQ mapping option, available for GB versions of its software, eliminates the need to enter bridge height data manually. This streamlines the creation of cost-effective, feasible transport plans that avoid low bridges on British roads when using high vehicles. Customers can enter their own bridge height data if necessary, but with this option, it is much easier to create practical routes using the latest accurate information from the outset.

Paragon users are also able to access Google’s live traffic information with just one click from the system Workbench. This feature provides regularly updated, colour-coded views of traffic events on UK roads and motorways. The new functionality also provides useful information about typical traffic conditions for specific times and days. The Google Map link is available in all the recent versions of Paragon, including Single Depot, Multi Depot and Integrated Fleets.

Paragon will also show how its INRIX-based GB road speed data option can improve planning accuracy by incorporating accurate road speeds captured at road link and directional level. This offers many benefits including making the plans more acceptable to drivers and the trips more realistic and achievable, with more reliable customer delivery times. The INRIX option also helps improve fleet utilisation and overall cost reduction.

The new Chinese language option makes it easier to benefit from Paragon’s advanced routing and scheduling optimisation solutions in China. Paragon software is Unicode compliant and can use special characters such as those in Simplified Chinese. Paragon software also supports a range of other language options, making it easy for international deployment.
