Knights of Old has added 10 new Scania tractor units to its modern transport fleet. The latest delivery demonstrates the company’s commitment to its continuous renewal programme; enabling it to continue providing a reliable service, whilst minimising its environmental impact.
Knights of Old opted for one of Scania’s comprehensive range of Euro 6-certified truck engines – the R450SCR. Anyone who needs 450 hp, not least European customers with tractor-trailers, can now choose between two versions of Scania’s well known 13-litre engines at that power level. In its latest configuration it uses only SCR after treatment technology, and thus is expected to become a strong favourite among customers, especially long-haulage firms that prioritise low diesel consumption.
The recent delivery supplied under Scania Finance’s 3 year contract hire, cements the TruckEast and Knights of Old long established supplier partnership, which today means Scania makes up more than 80 per cent of the total tractors in the Knights of Old’s fleet.
“We work very closely with our vehicle suppliers and the investment in new vehicles is vital in keeping the company moving forward. The new vehicles have environmental advantages and clients benefit from new vehicle reliability. The introduction of 10 new tractor units into the fleet allowed us to showcase a new livery, created to distinguish the contract vehicles from their counterparts, whilst reinforcing the Knights of Old Group brand” Paul Abbott, Group Director, Knights of Old said.
