LGV Network, one of the largest providers of HGV training, has launched a new recruitment service, which will sit alongside the established training side of the business.
In recent years the HGV industry has been experiencing the increasing problem of driver shortage, with the Freight Transport Association claiming that more than 20,000 drivers have quit since September 2014 due to the introduction of CPC. One key reason behind this driver shortage is that newly qualified drivers find it difficult to gain experience in the industry. LGV Network seek to tackle this by offering guaranteed employment of 37.5 hours for 6 months through its recruitment service.
The launch of the new recruitment service is being marked with the launch of their new website (www.lgvnetwork.co.uk). This website features a regularly updated jobs board with all of the current job vacancies in addition to full details of all the courses offered by the company.
Marc Fleckney, Operations Director at LGV Network says “LGV Network is unique in the fact we can offer a wide variety of temporary and or permanent employment opportunities to our Newly Qualified Drivers who have passed their HGV test through one of our training schools. This allows our newly qualified drivers to get a foot in the door of the HGV industry, something that is otherwise very difficult to do”.
“The recruitment service also allows our clients to have access to a pipeline of Newly Qualified Drivers extremely eager to gain experience in the industry, which means, we are not continually ‘fishing in the same pool’ of labour and gives our business a genuine USP”.
Offering recruitment alongside the training service puts LGV Network in a unique position as one of the only companies to do so in the country. Plus, working with some of the UK’s largest logistics businesses including DHL, Wincanton and Eddie Stobart; LGV Network can offer unparalleled experience to newly qualified drivers.
