A Bolton-based haulier has chosen Schmitz Cargobull for its first ever purchase of curtainsider trailers after three years of trialling solely leased assets.
Noesis has bought 20 aluminium fixed-roof curtainsiders – a move that will support its ongoing growth in general haulage, and provide an opportunity to move into pan-European logistics. After starting in aggregate transportation in the 1980s, the firm moved into general haulage in 2012 and has been trialling different trailers before settling on a long-term investment to drive growth for the future.
Rafaqat Iqbal, Operations Director, Noesis says: “Originally we were leasing trailers, but with our growth and as per our business plan we always acquire essential assets. We chose Schmitz Cargobull because they’re simply better trailers. We selected them after trialling a variety of manufacturers. With Schmitz Cargobull, we get better fuel consumption in relation to payload, they offer better build quality, and they are easier to use.”
Shafaqat Iqbal, Director, Noesis says: “The trailers undergo a rigorous test process through their production, which is reassuring as they are built to last and navigate through all terrains.”
Following this first order, the firm is already looking to take on additional trailers from Schmitz Cargobull in 2016, and exploring the European opportunities that the trailers are opening up for the business.
Mohammed Iqbal, Founder, Noesis, says: “We found that, without a doubt, these were the best. Trailers need to be reliable and have quality after-sales service, and we’ve got that with Schmitz Cargobull. We’ll definitely be looking at purchasing more in the future.”
Amjad Iqbal, Director of Finance, Noesis says: “Currently, we operate nationally in the UK, transporting a huge variety of goods including beverages and chemicals. However, because Schmitz Cargobull has a pan-European service network, that could make it easier for us to expand across the Continent as we know we’ll have quality support wherever we are. Therefore we’re seriously considering this kind of expansion.”
Manufactured at Schmitz Cargobull’s state-of-the-art facility in Altenberge, the Schmitz Cargobull fixed-roof curtainsider was specially designed for the UK and Irish markets and features wraparound curtains and an aluminium front bulkhead with galvanised steel front and rear corner posts. The Altenberge plant can manufacture up to 200 trailers a day, dramatically reducing leadtimes to just a few weeks.
