Bibby Distribution has won a top safety award from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) for the second consecutive year, after reducing accidents by a further 10 per cent year-on-year.
The business picked up a Gold award in Occupational Safety for its accident rate reduction and its company-wide commitment to safety that includes handbooks, videos, an employee app and full fleet telematics.
Andrew Mawson, Head of Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) at Bibby Distribution, says: “Health and safety is an essential part of our company culture, so we’re always aiming to improve. This latest RoSPA Gold award recognises our success to date and makes us even more determined to fulfil our ambition of making Bibby Distribution the safest operator in the country.”
Bibby Distribution’s dedication to safety spans all levels of the organisation. Every senior manager is equipped with a Leaders’ Handbook, featuring key tools and advice on how to champion safer working across their team.
All employees have access to training videos as well as a bespoke Bibby Employee App (BEAP), which puts safety briefings and news at their fingertips in an easy-to-read format.
And, as all Bibby Distribution vehicles are fitted with full fleet telematics, data is used to review driver performance and encourage best practice. The 3PL rewards high standards with a Driver of the Year award.
These initiatives combined, contribute to Bibby Distribution’s long-term Road to Zero strategy – a plan to achieve zero harm, zero waste and zero environmental impact.
