Family-run timber merchants, Basildon Timber Ltd, has taken delivery of a Range D10 low 4×2 210hp with aluminium flatbed body and manual gearbox. Supplied by Renault Trucks Essex, the bright yellow Range D replaces Basildon Timber’s previous 06 plate 7.5 tonne Renault Midlum and marks a move up to 10 tonnes to take advantage of valuable extra payload and productivity.

The Range D undertakes timber deliveries across Essex and into London for both trade and domestic customers. Commenting on the decision to select the 10 tonne Range D, Managing Director, John Cordery, Basildon Timber, says: “Our old 7.5 tonne Midlum was so reliable, it never let us down and was still running well but with the LEZ charges for delivering inside the M25 we needed to look at Euro 6. We decided to stay with Renault Trucks and go up to 10 tonnes with the Range D, which gives us more payload with all the manoeuvrability and accessibility of the 7.5 tonner. It has only been on the road a few weeks, but so far it’s running fantastic.”
