Fraikin’s long-standing relationship with premium next day delivery specialist City Link continues to go from strength to strength after signing two substantial orders.
Under a new 10 year agreement, Fraikin will supply 85 Lawrence David single-deck trailers for inter-urban deliveries. The order follows on the back of a recent order of 86 double-deckers for night trunking, meaning in the last six months, 171 new assets have been supplied on full service contract hire.
City Link is one of Fraikin’s largest contract hire customers, with the commercial fleet services company currently supplying and managing 109 trucks and 253 trailers.
Fraikin has worked with City Link for more than 15 years, acting as a key supplier of its HGV fleet. With 80 of the Lawrence David curtainsiders representing entirely new additions to the fleet, plus five box vans replacing 11-year-old assets, the new fleet represents exciting growth for both firms.

Fraikin provides full maintenance cover with 24/7 breakdown assistance. The trailers are on a 12-week maintenance cycle to ensure they remain in the best possible condition, with maintenance scheduled to ensure maximum fleet availability. This sees the double-deckers serviced during the daytime and the single deck trailers enter the workshop overnight.
Both firms have grown together and enjoy the benefits of being near neighbours in Coventry, which has helped cement an already solid relationship. Fraikin staff work at City Link’s Coventry site every day to ensure a close working partnership.
