The Confederation of Passenger Transport (CPT) has reported a successful start for both the CPT and its members, following the introduction of ‘CPT Tacho Analysis’ – a comprehensive tachograph system developed in partnership with TruTac, the UK’s largest independent transport software analysis company.
Having never previously partnered with a tachograph specialist, CPT was keen to ensure its compliance service extended into this key area for its operating members.
A year ago, after an in-depth selection and due diligence process, CPT awarded the tender to TruTac, who were proud to become CPT’s commercial tachograph analysis partner.
At a recent annual review meeting, Simon Posner, Chief Executive and Peter Gomersall, Deputy Chief Executive of the CPT, met with Terry Ramsey, MD and Jemma James, Commercial Director of TruTac.
The commercial partnership was recognised as a success for all concerned, as a high percentage of CPT members have signed up to the service in the first year. The CPT team are now looking at other TruTac compliance products which may compliment CPT Tacho Analysis. These may include mobile app-based products for drivers’ daily walk-around checks and driver time and attendance, to assist in capturing WTD (Working Time Directive) data.
The CPT is committed to supporting its members with the best compliance management partners and actively engages with providers to get the best possible commercial deals.
Peter Gomersall, Deputy Chief Executive of the CPT is upbeat about the first year’s results: “We are delighted with the positive start CPT Tacho Analysis has had and we look forward to working with TruTac in the future for the benefit of our members. Both TruTac and the CPT are exhibiting later this year at Euro Bus Expo (1, 2 & 3 November 2016) and we look forward to meeting members and receiving their feedback regarding this service.”
“Johnson’s Coaches was the first operator to join CPT Tacho Analysis” he continues, “and since they were signed up last year, a significant number of CPT bus and coach operator members have followed suit. We look forward to introducing this exclusive offer to even more CPT members in 2016/17.”
The CPT Tacho Analysis software package includes complete web-based digital and analogue tachograph analysis, supporting EU and GB Domestic Drivers’ Hours Rules specifically for PSV drivers (including Working Time Directive regulations). The cloud-based system provides instant access to clear and concise compliance data including manager and driver dashboards with KPI reporting. The package includes free data storage, upgrades and support.
Digital tachograph analysis is instant and the system fully supports remote downloading with reports immediately available. This enables compliance issues to be identified whilst activities are still fresh in drivers’ minds. All reports can be tailored to head office, region, site and depot level users with automatic email generation.
The cloud based system includes management dashboards with features such as comparisons with the UK average infringement levels and traffic alerts. The system’s driver debriefing module can be linked to the company’s HR policy in respect of training and disciplinary issues. Drivers can also log on to their own area of the system which will show their duties, daily rest status, earliest next duty start and other compliance data.
