Dennison Rentals, the truck rental division of Dennison Commercials, has recently supplied seven Volvo FM tractor units to newly-founded business, Wylie Transport Ltd.
Owner of Wylie Transport, Phillip Wylie, has a 13 year track-record as a Transport Manager in the food industry sector, but recently made the decision to set up on his own. The Company’s first major contract is with leading European dairy processor, Glanbia Plc, and in particular the ‘Ingredients’ division of the business. Utilising ten drivers, Wylie Transport is now the main milk collection subcontractor for Glanbia for all of Fermanagh and South Tyrone.
Since the first truck went on the road in July, Dennison Rentals has supplied a further six vehicles, including five new and two second-hand tractor units, a mix of Globetrotter and sleeper cabs. All vehicles have been supplied in Glanbia livery and are on 36-month rental, with full Repair & Maintenance.
Phillip Wylie commented, “The milk industry is a seven day-a-week business, so we need an equipment supplier that can support us 24/7. I have been very impressed with the quality of the back-up service that Dennison Commercials has provided”. Due to the geographical area covered on the Glanbia contract, maintenance has primarily been carried out at Dennison’s in Dungannon, but other Dennison’s Dealerpoints have also contributed at times.
Whilst the decision to operate Volvos was based on previous positive experience of the product, the ease of working with Dennison’s was also a factor,” continued Mr Wylie. This significant rental deal, demonstrates Dennison Rentals’ ability to finance a new start-up business, with limited credit history.
Dennison Rentals now operates a fleet in excess of 200 Volvo trucks, with short term spot rental and long term contract hire options available. As well as offering modern, reliable and fuel-efficient trucks, Dennison Rentals has the added advantage of supplying unrivalled customer support using the Dennison Commercials and wider Volvo network.
