Leading Waterford haulage firm, Dungarvan Transport, has hit the ground running in 2021 by taking delivery of the first of a number of new Mercedes-Benz heavy-duty Actros trucks, with further units due to arrive over the coming months.
Supplied by Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicle dealer Surehaul (Irl) Ltd. of Clonmel, of which Dungarvan Transport is a long-standing customer, the new trucks have been delivered factory painted in the company’s distinctive blue livery and will soon become a familiar sight on Irish roads.
Coupled with ‘MirrorCam’ – a system that replaces conventional wing mirrors to deliver improved aerodynamics with a safer and easier driving experience – other safety and comfort features on the Actros 2448, 2.5m StreamSpace cabs include Predictive Powertrain Control, Proximity Control Assist, truck specific navigation and a microwave oven.
Based in Colligan, Dungarvan Transport has been at the forefront of Irish and international haulage for over 30 years, specialising in three sectors of the market; wood transport, agri-products and pharmaceuticals. With depots in Dublin and Kerry, the second generation, family-owned business operates a fleet of more than 50 trucks and over 100 trailers.
