Preston-based logistics firm GBA Services has begun welcoming its first order of trailers from Tiger as the fast-growing specialist with a can-do attitude strives to realise its ten-year vision to have permeated every European market and become recognised as a top-twenty force in motor transport.
The first batch of Tiger Trailers entering service for GBA comprises twenty tri-axle curtainsiders designed and built at the Cheshire-based manufacturer’s stunning, state-of-the-art facility. The order was split into ten 4,800mm and ten 4,200mm trailers, each featuring clearspan, pillarless roof designs, while the flush doors specified enable GBA’s digital print livery to be showcased more purely. The new 13.6m curtainsider trailers will augment GBA’s existing fleet, blending toughness and durability with flexibility of access while complying with the EN 12642-XL standard for load securing – a vital requirement for operating on today’s roads.
David Birkbeck, GBA Services’ managing director, comments: “We want to thank Tiger Trailers for such warm hospitality and a VIP tour of the factory. It was extremely interesting and informative to see the state-of-the-art facility and high-class standard that goes into making Tiger Trailers great. We took delivery of our twenty-truck order and look forward to building a fantastic relationship with Tiger in the future.”
“Tiger Trailers have always been accommodating to GBA from the enquiry stage right the way through to delivery. Handling specific complex requirements across two trailer models with ease, we already have six of our twenty trailers fully operational, launching our new slogan ‘Delivering Logistics Solutions’, this further increases our capacity and flexibility to meet our customer’s needs”, adds GBA’s fleet manager, Mark Hailwood.
Tiger Trailers provides customers with confidence-instilling added value by means of its consultative approach, the expert team of highly skilled designers, coachbuilders, finishers and finance specialists treating each customer as individual with unique requirements to ensure that the entire process from conceptualisation and manufacture through to testing, completion and funding is as tailored and seamless as possible.
“GBA Services have been an absolute pleasure to work closely with throughout all stages of delivering their first curtainsider order from us. Following our collaboration with their fleet manager Mark we were very proud to welcome him, David, Paul and other key GBA personnel to Tiger Trailers’ site to mark the departure of the initial brace of this batch of twenty curtainsiders. We greatly value their positive feedback regarding our purpose-designed factory along with our showroom facility that enabled them to inspect the trailers privately in warm, dry and well-lit surroundings”, comments Tiger Trailers’ Technical Sales Manager, Tom Stott.
He adds: “We are delighted to have made this first step in a hopefully enduring relationship of contributing to their continued expansion and success as a logistics specialist that provides an impressive portfolio of time-critical, temperature-controlled, hazardous freight and on occasion fascinating high-security solutions throughout Europe.”
Following a comprehensive photography session, the first of this debut order of Tiger Trailers for GBA Services departed for the firm’s Scunthorpe depot pulled by DAF XF units and sporting the haulier’s eye-catching livery.
