FORS, the industry’s leading Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme, is pleased to announce that Lowery Limited is the 150thcompany to achieve FORS Gold accreditation.
The company, based in Reigate, operates in the construction sector specialising in civil engineering within the rail industry. It currently runs 43 vans and 3 HGVs around London and the South of England. Lowery Limited has been a member of FORS since 2012 and has progressed from bronze to silver and now gold standard.
Kevin Griffiths, Compliance and SHEQ Manager said: “Our new FORS Gold accreditation is the result of a sustained effort in improving our fleet operations. Significant benefits have been achieved with regard to both fuel efficiency and a reduction in vehicle accidents. We have also noted a reduction in our fleet insurance premiums as a result of these improvements.”
Becoming a FORS member enabled Lowery Limited to improve fuel efficiency, and reduce environmental impact, by using the toolkits and training available through the scheme. In addition all drivers have completed a Safe Urban Driving course and the company has significantly invested in safety systems cameras, nearside proximity sensors and audible alarms for all vehicles. The company has reduced its parking fines by 93% and reduced accidents by 25%.
