Refrigerated road transport operator Frigospeed has achieved a 55 pe cent increase in mileage with Continental tyres.
The company is steadily replacing all its tyres with Continentals following the success of its two-year Continental HSR2 trial, with company owner Tom Buckley determined to stay with the brand for the long-term. With the majority of its journeys consisting of time critical trips with sensitive cargo, running high quality, reliable tyres is of fundamental importance.
“We were impressed with the significant mileage increase offered by the Continental tyres,” explains Tom Buckley, Director, Frigospeed. “They offer great value and are consistently helping us to reduce our fuel costs. We have already moved 75% of our fleet to Continentals, and as we change the remainder, we’ll opt for Continental replacements.”
Frigospeed uses predominantly new tyres for its fleet of 15 vehicles, selecting a combination of Continental HSR2, HD Hybrid and HTR2 tyres. The company also benefits from the monthly technical advice and visits from its local Continental truck Sales Manager. Tyre husbandry, maintenance and service are provided by Conti360 partner Heffernan Tyres in Kildare.
The family-run business has 15 years’ experience of refrigerated haulage. Its vehicles are maintained to a very high standard, while every trailer is equipped with dividing doors, allowing for the transport of frozen, fresh and ambient goods simultaneously.
Frigospeed also offers cold storage and warehousing facilities for distribution across Ireland. The company places a strong emphasis on traditional values and has longstanding relationships with many of its customers, even providing them with access to its online GPS tracking system.
