As political negotiations continue in Brussels, and with the transition period for Brexit all but agreed until the end of 2020, businesses across the country are starting to consider the arrangements they will need to keep trading efficiently, both with European and domestic customers in the coming months and years.

To provide clarification on the issues which will affect supply chain operations, and identify areas where work may be required to ensure continued business efficiencies, the Freight Transport Association (FTA) will be holding a one day conference, Keep Britain Trading, on 21 June 2018 at 1 Great George Street, London SW1.

FTA is leading for logistics on Brexit, and is bringing together the key decision makers and policy influencers to help delegates plan the changes needed to maintain supply chain efficiency as the UK exits the European Union.

Key speakers will include Robin Walker MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State at DExEU as well as Karen Wheeler, Director General, Cross Border Delivery Group.  A series of sector-specific workshops will identify particular issues and requirements for critical supply chains, while panel sessions will provide a view from both Calais and Dublin for their border readiness for Brexit.  Representatives from other EU member states will also be in attendance to discuss their own issues and areas for concern as the UK’s date for exiting the European union approaches.

For more information, and to book a place at the event, which will cost £295 + VAT for FTA members and £395 + VAT for non-FTA members (with discounts available for additional delegates), please visit:  https://fta.co.uk/events/keep-britain-trading

Efficient logistics is vital to keep Britain trading, directly having an impact on more than seven million people employed in the making, selling and moving of goods. With Brexit, new technology and other disruptive forces driving change in the way goods move across borders and through the supply chain, logistics has never been more important to UK plc.  A champion and challenger, FTA speaks to Government with one voice on behalf of the whole sector, with members from the road, rail, sea and air industries, as well as the buyers of freight services such as retailers and manufacturers.
