Hiab is at the Commercial Vehicle Show 2013 (Stand 4H90) to demonstrate its ability to meet a wide range of on-road load handling needs even more effectively through market-leading brands that include Hiab loader cranes, Multilift demountable systems and Moffett truck mounted forklifts.

Making its debut at the show is the latest addition to the Multilift XR Power Range of demountable body systems – the XR24S. The use of more advanced and lower weight materials gives this sliding hooklift model a lifting and tipping capacity of 24,000 kg. It also features a new high performance PLC control box and options on its regenerative hydraulic system that deliver significant fuel savings and reduced emissions during operation.

Hiab is also making available to the market for the first time at the show the all new Moffett E Series of truck-mounted all-electric forklift trucks. These use advanced electronic technology to achieve near silent operation with a noise level below 60dba allowing their night-time operation in built-up areas whilst also delivering improved and safer performance and reduced cost of operation over their lifetime when compared with a diesel powered forklift.

Behind each of these brands is the new Pro Future™ concept which aims to optimise product performance and deliver outstanding results for operators in terms of increased efficiency, cost savings, and measurable environmental benefits throughout the lifetime of the equipment.

An example from the class-leading Hiab loader crane range, the Hiab XS122E-3 HiPro, will also be on display. This incorporates the latest Space 5000 electronics and has been prepared for operation as a MEWP (Mobile Elevating Working Platform). The equipment incorporates a fully variable stability monitoring system to comply with the European standard EN280.

The Multilift XR Pro Future™ options within the Hooklift Demountable Power Range, covers systems for 19 to 32 tonne trucks. The Fast Speed option combined with the Fast Tipping and Fast Lowering options and use of the latest state-of-the-art PLC control system significantly speed up the unload/load cycle.

Automatic Sequence Control manages the entire cycle enabling empty bodies to be unloaded in a much reduced time compared to that normally taken. As a result, on a typical daily duty cycle involving ten drops/pick ups as much as 20 minutes can be saved in a day.

The technology uses a regenerative system that requires no increase in engine speed to achieve this faster performance and across a typical eight year lifespan of the equipment this can save around 18% of the fuel used during operation. There are environmental benefits too including an equivalent reduction of 18% in CO2 emissions and less engine noise.
