The Irish Road Haulage Association (IRHA) is calling on the government to introduce legislation that would facilitate haulage operators in getting insurance out of state.Verona Murphy thumb

IRHA President, Verona Murphy says legislation must be introduced “to allow the commercial sector obtain insurance in other competing markets across the EU to combat the lack of competition in the insurance sector in Ireland.”

She add: “We have reached crisis point, our cost base is already double that of all EU member competitors. The levels of disparity are unstainable and operator’s profit margins are all but gone.”
