Eddie Stobart truck drivers, and stars of Channel Five’s Eddie Stobart: Trucks & Trailers, Ashley Maddocks and Dave Pickerill took part in a charity skydiving day yesterday to help raise funds for Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity, to help make life better for seriously ill children.
A team of Stobart employees, drivers and fans jumped from the Parachuting Black Knights Parachute Centre in Cockerham, Lancashire, to raise thousands of pounds for Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity. The daredevil fundraisers even opted to jump from an altitude of 15,000 feet, the highest tandem skydive offered in the UK.
Emma Jeans, event fundraiser for Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity said: “Leaping from a plane on a tandem skydive is the ultimate adrenalin experience, and a marvellous way to raise funds for charity. It was a day to remember for everyone who took part, and their friends and families who came to cheer them on.”
Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity makes life better in many ways including through Roald Dahl children’s nurses, family hardship grants and research. The charity has strong links with the north-west, including setting up five Roald Dahl children’s nurses, and last year helping 35 families caring for a seriously ill child living in hardship, through their family grants programme.
