In recent times, specialist arboriculture and land management company Maydencroft Ltd has developed a preference for Isuzu trucks, following the successful performance of its first two Isuzu 7.5 tonne rigids and its first two Isuzu Grafter 3.5 tonne rigids.
These initial four Isuzus have performed really well for Maydencroft so far and, as a result, the South East based company has now added a further two new Isuzu Grafter Green 3.5tonne rigids to its 50-strong commercial vehicle fleet.
“Overall, our first Isuzu trucks have given us a really solid performance to date, but we have been particularly impressed by the towing capability of the 3.5 tonne Grafters, together with their manoeuvrability, light weight and amazing payload. This combination makes them perfect for our job,” said Tom Williams, managing director, Maydencroft Ltd.
The latest two Isuzu N35.125 Grafter Green rigids have been specified with specialist Arb tipper bodies, but also include tool and equipment lockers. Both the new trucks were supplied byfamily run Isuzu dealer Arlesey Car & Commercials, based on the Hertfordshire/Bedfordshire border. Covering approximately 20,000 km per annum, the Isuzus will be working for a minimum of four years within the Maydencroft fleet, and possibly even longer.
Currently, the Isuzu Grafter Greens are working on council contracts in Welwyn Garden City and Hatfield as well as on contract work within the Royal Borough of Windsor & Maidenhead.
“Without doubt, the Isuzus are a great piece of kit and ideally suited to our tree surgery division where the two- and three-man teams work in tandem on contract jobs,” added Tom Williams.
At Maydencroft, the new Isuzu Grafter Green rigids are generally towing trailers fitted with wood chipping equipment that reduces the larger timber pieces into smaller wood chippings, which are then projected into the body of the Isuzu Grafter tipper. The Arb bodies also feature a specialist tool locker for secure housing of the tree surgeon’s kit as well as on board traffic management equipment. Finally, the truck also has a special drop-down step for easy access to the body.
“Arboriculture applications have become synonymous with the Isuzu Grafter Green as its overall performance and towing capability makes it an ideal vehicle for this type of application. The growing numbers of Isuzu trucks in the Maydencroft fleet is testament to the successful performance of the vehicles so far,” said Richard Waterworth, Head of Sales, Isuzu Truck UK.
