VSc Solutions Ltd has launched an Android version of its flexible electronic proof of delivery system, TranSend ePOD. This new version makes TranSend ePOD accessible to delivery operations using Android Smartphones and tablets, which means that they can now deploy a robust and secure mobile delivery management solution at a lower cost of ownership.
TranSend ePOD is already widely used in the UK by 3PLs and delivery operations on rugged devices. The system, now available as an Android app, uses the depth of the operating system to effectively manage a driver’s day and route compliance by presenting all the information needed for vehicle checks, routes, deliveries and collections. A free download will be available on the Google Play Store.
Real-time delivery information, including signature, scanning and photo capture, is integrated with back office systems including routing and order management, providing managers with a 360 degree view of the delivery operation and more accurately monitor the delivery of products on time and in full (OTIF) – a key measurement of delivery performance. This allows exceptions to be dealt with more quickly and efficiently. By using accurate point-of-delivery information, same-day billing improves cash flow and reduces post-delivery disputes and much of the administration normally associated with paper-based systems.
“With the growing use of Smartphones in the workplace, it makes sense for many organisations to deploy business apps on devices already used by drivers and sub-contractors”, explains David Cook, managing director, VSc Solutions Ltd. “The Android platform is ideal for deploying powerful business apps and allows us to build a best-in-class ePOD and delivery management experience that takes advantage of the latest mobile technologies and device capabilities”.
