First time pass rates for lorry and bus annual tests have increased for the third year running, according to new figures published by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency.
The pass rate figures show that the overall large vehicle first time pass rate has increased each year from 80.2% in 2012/13 to 81.0% in 2013/14 and 82.4% in 2014/15.
Other statistics show that prohibition rates for mechanical checks at roadside stops have decreased from 37.7% in 2013/14 to 35.7% in 2014/15.
We’ve also updated statistics detailing the most common reasons for vehicles failing annual tests. Headlamp aim, lamps and brake system components remain in the top 3 common reasons for failure for both lorries and buses.
