One of Ireland’s largest transport companies, Perennial Freight, has chosen to further modernise its fleet of commercial vehicles by placing an order for 26 new Mercedes-Benz heavy-duty Actros trucks.

Replacing its outgoing Mercedes-Benz tractor units, the new Actros will be delivered on a phased basis over the next two years.

Supplied by Motor Distributors Limited, of which Perennial Freight is a long-standing customer, the new trucks will be finished in the Company’s distinctive cobalt blue livery and first units will soon begin operation out of its Taghmon base in Wexford, servicing daily routes across Ireland, the UK and mainland Europe.

A mixture of Mercedes-Benz Actros 2545LS and 1845LS, 6×2 and 4×2 tractor units, the new trucks come with 2.5m Big Space cabs and new Actros ‘L’ packages, the most luxurious product offering in the model series.

Safety features include tyre pressure monitors, Active Brake Assist ‘5’, Lane Departure and Traffic Sign Assist, whilst chief amongst the long list of driver comforts are passenger side table, LED interior lights, glass sun roof, multimedia cockpit, Apple Car Play and satellite navigation.

Established in 1998 and now with offices in Ireland, the UK, France, Belgium, Holland and Poland, Perennial Freight is widely recognised as one of Ireland’s largest transport companies, with a fleet of over 750 trailers and a further 130 trucks operating transport services across continental Europe.
