Perrigo, the leading global supplier of healthcare products and over-the-counter pharmaceuticals, has added two Krone Dry Liner box trailers to its internal UK transport division.
Operating from the company’s Braunton location in Devon and from Barnsley, South Yorkshire, the trailers are trunking own-brand OTC products to supermarkets throughout the UK.
Constructed using Krone’s Duoplex insulated steel panels, the Dry Liners are designed to provide protection from warm ambient conditions and with a 30mm insulated roof will also protect against condensation which could drip onto the load.
The steel front bulkhead uses Krone’s market-proven Profi Liner design while the rear doors are also in light weight steel.
Clive Jones, Warehouse and Distribution Manager for Perrigo, reports that the drivers find the Dry Liners to handle well and to be more stable than previous trailers. He also notes that Krone’s Duoplex panels help to ensure the internal load temperature does not exceed 30 degrees centigrade.
“We run a busy operation with high-value and relatively sensitive products at its core” says Clive Jones “and to maintain the integrity of goods in transit, the trailer specification had to be tailored to our needs.”
With UK service back up provided by Krone’s 55 workshops and 60 mobile service vans, Perrigo is looking forward to a high standard of aftermarket service with maximum uptime.
