Plant hire specialist Tom Prichard Contracting has turned to Andover Trailers for a new custom-built plant body after receiving recommendations about the product’s durability and reliability.
The business, based in Llantrisant, South Wales, has a fleet of 30 HGVs that are used to transport a wide range of plant equipment to customers across Wales and the south west.
Tom Prichard’s new LPPB32 body is mounted to a 32 tonne Scania 8×2 rigid and fitted with hydraulic power toe ramps, hydraulic steady legs, and six sets of lashing points in the floor, as well as an electric Superwinch and plastic tool box to ensure equipment can be securely stowed away.
In addition, the deck is five inches lower than a regular plant body which enables Tom Prichard Contracting to benefit from low ramp and beavertail approach angles – making it easier to load and unload machinery when visiting customer sites. The new plant body is being used to transport a variety of equipment from the company’s 400-strong fleet on a double-shift basis, seven days a week.
Business Owner, Tom Prichard, says: “We chose to work with Andover on this latest order for one simple reason – reputation. Andover Trailers has a fantastic reputation in the industry for building durable and reliable equipment, and that’s exactly what we need.
“Andover Trailers are the true experts in their field. The service we have received has been excellent and we won’t hesitate to work with the team at Andover again, when we’re next looking to update our vehicles.”
Tom Prichard Contracting was founded in 1995 solely as a plant hire company, but now offers a comprehensive service including demolition, site clearance, bulk earthworks, drainage, ground remediation, recycling and waste management.
