The Road Haulage Association has welcomed the news from London Mayor Sadiq Khan that plans are moving forward with the Silvertown Tunnel proposal, providing a much-needed new crossing in south-east London thereby easing traffic pressure on the Blackwall Tunnel. It will also support freight and delivery businesses by providing a more resilient, reliable and efficient road network.
Commenting, RHA director of policy Jack Semple said: “This is great news for the industry in general and for the people and business community in south-east London. It is an excellent investment that is badly needed.”
