Transport Exchange Group has upgraded the booking chain solution for its leading freight exchanges – Haulage Exchange and Courier Exchange – to provide member businesses with an improved means of managing and updating the status of loads when they carry out work on each other’s behalf. As a result, hauliers, couriers and logistics operators using the UK’s largest and fastest growing freight trading platform are now able to better monitor the complete lifecycle of inter-company transactions by automatically sharing key details with their trading partners in order to save time and money, improve confidence levels as well as boosting operational performance.
The new features enable companies to quickly allocate jobs to another member or even a regular sub-contractor. The solution simplifies and enhances booking processes via the freight trading platform by providing added functionality to manage the flow of order, status and proof of delivery information to relevant stakeholders. The information can also now be integrated into any existing transport management system (TMS) used by member companies through a new application programming interface (API).
Meanwhile, automatic updates can now be set up for any booking – these are circulated throughout the booking chain so that all involved parties have complete visibility of a current job status. These updates can be sent as event-driven emails, at a frequency specified by both the supplier and sub-contractor, to communicate relevant information including current vehicle and consignment location, for the duration of any individual booking.
Lyall Cresswell, Managing Director of Transport Exchange Group commented: “Our freight trading platform is designed to be fast, flexible and responsive to offer unrivalled simplicity and ease of use to our 6,000 members that are responsible for trading some 700,000 movements per annum. We are continually looking to develop clever and intuitive tools, so they can quickly and efficiently share information to effectively develop trusted networks, boost operational efficiency and increase profitability. Moreover, integrations with complementary third-party systems, such as vehicle tracking and transport management solutions, is making it easier than ever before to work with our freight trading platform.”
