Woodland Logistics operates a 150 strong Mercedes Benz fleet for various industries in the UK, offering businesses an alternative to operating their own fleet of vehicles.
In September 2012 an existing customer of Woodland logistics, Cepac Limited, a manufacturer of cardboard products, extended its contract with Woodland for a further five years.
Proposals presented by Woodland Logistics at the time of contract renewal have delivered a number of benefits. One of the changes was the introduction of the new Mercedes Benz Actros tractor unit, model 2545LS, in order to achieve fuel savings.
Woodland also introduced 29 aerodynamic Lawrence David trailers to the fleet.
As well as proudly showcasing the most striking truck on the road, we were delighted with the results,” says Woodland Logistics MD Sean Kirby.
“Combined with the efficient and effective driving style of the Cepac drivers, aided by the introduction of the Mandata Telematics system, utilising the new units and trailers over the past 12 months has saved 11.87% in fuel spend, which is a considerable annual cost saving across the entire fleet of vehicles.”
Woodland Logistics is part of the UK-based Woodland Group, which this year celebrates its 25th anniversary. For more information on Woodland Logistics, visit www.woodland-logistics.com.
